- Visa fees rose five-fold on 1 Jul 2026 (JPY 3,000 to 15,000 single).
- Transit visas stopped on 1 Jul 2026; use a single-entry visa.
- Indonesia (15 days) and Qatar (30 days) need a free e-passport registration first; Thailand 15 days, no registration.
- JESTA travel authorisation planned for fiscal 2028; not live yet.
